We are pleased to share that our very own Conway Primary School, and the Trust as a whole, featured on BBC Breakfast on Thursday 2nd March.
The BBC were using World Book Day to relaunch the 500 Words project – which many of you will remember was a nationwide writing project where children write a 500-word story and submit it to the Chris Evans’ show to win prizes.
It was a fantastic morning, for both Conway Primary School and the Trust, with Rebecca Eaton and Mark Unwin interviewed by Jon Kay about World Book Day and the 500 words project at Conway and across the Trust.
It was lovely to receive such glowing feedback from the producer and presenters themselves, saying:
"Once again, thank you so, so, so much for yesterday morning and for everything in the run up to our OB. It was an absolutely spectacular morning. As Jon said in his message last night, Conway Primary is the best school we’ve probably ever been to. All the pupils and staff are a credit to you Rebecca…”
“Thank you so much for your patience and willingness to let us into your school and for everything you did to make yesterday’s launch a huge success. Our Editor, Richard Frediani, called me to say that your school had set the bar so high for future schools that we go to for live broadcasts, that it may never be surpassed!"
"I just wanted to say the most MASSIVE Thankyou to you, your entire staff and incredible students for being such amazing hosts for BBC Breakfast today.”
“We visit lots of schools all over the country, but I’ve rarely come across such a wonderful bunch of kids and teachers.”
“Your school clearly has an amazing energy - and an immense can-do sense of fun. Thank you for being so very helpful and accommodating. The children were all so bright and well-behaved. An absolute credit to you. "
Exciting things were also happening behind the scenes on Thursday, with Rebecca being interviewed on BBC 5 Live and with Charlie Higson & Benjamin Zephaniah visiting year 6 pupils.
